2013 TS Eliot Prize readings at the Southbank

January 12, 2014 @ 7:30 pm

Hear readings from the poets shortlisted for the 2013 TS Eliot Prize, one of the most loved events of the literary calendar.

Ian McMillan comperes the evening. Ian Duhig chairs the judging panel, accompanied by two other judges, poets Vicki Feaver and Imtiaz Dharker.

Expect an electric atmosphere at this performance, which is a unique opportunity to hear the best contemporary poets reading their own work.

The judges will meet in October to decide on the ten-book shortlist. The four Poetry Book Society Choices from 2013 are automatically shortlisted for the Prize.

The Spring 2013 Choice was Bad Machine by George Szirtes (Bloodaxe) and the Summer Choice was Drysalter by Michael Symmons Roberts (Jonathan Cape).

They will be joined on the shortlist by the PBS Autumn Choice, Anne Carson’s Red Doc > (Jonathan Cape) and the Winter Choice, Moniza Alvi’s At the Time of Partition (Bloodaxe).
